I have deployed a SFB 2019 and Lync 2013 pools in the same AD forest. Persistent chat is enabled on Lync 2013 server and it is not supported in SFB 2019 pool. This blog will test the client operation between the environments. Here is the topology for reference;
Newly provisioned User :
I have created a test Peristent chat policy and assigned to a newly provisioned SFB 2019 user. This persistent chat database is located in Lync 2013 server.
Signed-out of the client and signed in back, PC chat was enabled for the user and he was also able to create a chat room successfully. I have also added a 2013 user in to the member /manager list.
Migrated user from Lync 2013 to SFB 2019:
I have migrated an existing user from Lync 2013 to SFB 2019 pool. Direct migration was timed out few times, I had to hope via SFB 2015 pool. Prior to migration I had few IMs (data) in the HR chat room. I just want to check the data access via SFB 2019 pool.
Test user was able to access PC data after migration and user didn’t face any issue after migration from 2013 to SFB 2019.
